This is an elective qualification to a PPL or CPL, but is a requirement if you wish to go onto an Instructor Rating and or a Command Instrument Rating. The 10 hour night rating course will teach you to take off, land and how to navigate at night, generally speaking a greater reliance is made on using instruments and navigation aids to assist with navigation. The rating is designed to give you greater flexibility on when you can fly, allowing you for instance, to arrive at your destination after dark, and as such is a very useful qualification.
